Rosita MacGowan, BA, ATT

Director and Tax Advisor

Having spent my entire career in accountancy and tax, as a qualified tax advisor, I’ve come to realise two critical aspects. Firstly, every business owner’s primary aim is to minimise tax. Secondly, there often exists a misunderstanding about the distinction between accountancy and tax. From these insights, UK Tax Advice was born which evolved to include Accountancy too.

We value integrity, clarity, and care, and believe in building strong relationships with our clients. Although we are a small team, we take pride in our ability to deliver results that often outstrip those of much larger firms. This is not because we are focused on expanding our client list, it is because we genuinely care about the people we work with.

My speciality? Identifying tax issues, understanding individual needs, and delivering solutions in a way that resonates with people. This ability to demystify tax problems is not just my job – it is my superpower.

John Kavanagh, CTA

Chartered Tax Adviser

I have 40 years of experience in nearly all aspects of UK and international tax, advising a wide range of clients from private individuals, owner-managed businesses, publicly owned groups, trustees and executors, and a Fortune 100 bank.

I worked initially for HMRC and then spent 7 years with Deloitte, where I qualified as a Chartered Tax Adviser. I subsequently took up positions as a specialist tax partner in a Top 10 accountancy firm and as a board director of a City tax boutique.

I have written on many occasions for the professional press, in titles such as Taxation, Tax Journal, the Journal of International Taxation and Accountancy, and for specialist websites such as Taxationweb.
